The blood of Jesus isn't only for our forgiveness of sins. To a man at the foot of the cross it opened his eyes, so if as a Christian pleads the blood of Jesus in any situation which feel needs life. I don't see anything wrong about. According to the bible life is in the blood. So pleading life in our situation wouldn't be a superstition but a weapon which I can use to conqure.
